Mr Narayan has been a full-time consultant in trauma and limb reconstruction surgery since 2002. He regularly treats multiply injured patients, major trauma, complex fractures, and open fractures in his clinical practice, including using external fixator devices.

His elective practice is focused on post-trauma complications, including the treatment of nonunion, malunion, fracture-related infection, and joint contractures. He works with neurologists in the reconstruction of lower limb problems after neurological injury, and with plastic surgeons in treating complications of amputation surgery.

He holds a post-graduate diploma in Medical Law and continues to maintain continuing professional development for his medicolegal practice.

He provides about 150 personal injury reports a year, with about a 50:50 claimant: defendant split in reports for catastrophic injury, amputation and multiply injured patients.

He provides about 8 to 10 reports on alleged clinical negligence a year, with about an 85:15 claimant: defendant split.
