Mr Simmons is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon and works at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust, which has been a Major Trauma Centre since 2006.

His clinical practice involves managing complex lower limb injuries and reconstructions, in particular complex knee injuries. He also participates in the management of General Orthopaedic Trauma and Multiple Trauma patients and provides opinions on such injuries.

He has a large medicolegal practice which encompasses both claimant and defendant cases to maintain a well-balanced opinion.

He undertakes regular CPD in medicolegal work to maintain his professional practice.

He has aided the court as an Expert Witness since 2006 and provides 200 plus reports a year but mainly in complex injury and high value cases, both for defendants and claimants. He has vast experience in clinical negligence cases as well as high-value personal injury cases.

He has provided expert witness testimony in court and has been acknowledged in a judgement as “an impressive expert witness”.
