Neil has 25 years’ experience as a fellowship trained Consultant Adult Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon and continues to undertake the management of the following spinal pathologies: degenerative, trauma, metastatic tumour, and infection. He contributes to the provision of a complex spinal surgery emergency service. Neil is currently the Clinical Lead for the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Spinal Network and has continuing advisory roles with NHSE/GIRFT and the Royal College of Surgeons. His past involvements include the development of national clinical guidelines for BASS and NICE. Neil has published works, citations in peer reviewed journals, and has presented internationally.
Outside of his NHS commitments, Neil has an established medico-legal practice, focused on clinical negligence cases. He has experience in giving expert evidence at civil trials and inquests.
