Professor Sanjiv Jari is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Salford Royal Hospital, a Regional Major Trauma Centre, appointed in 2001 having trained in Manchester, London and the USA. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester. He was appointed as an Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Sports at the University of Bolton in 2013. His clinical practice covers complex trauma, with specialist expertise in knee and lower-limb injuries, ligament reconstruction, joint replacement, and sports medicine. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, member of The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, fully GMC-registered, and holds multiple qualifications including a Sports Medicine Fellowship Diploma from the University of Indiana.

He is an experienced medico-legal expert, producing 600–700 reports annually since 1996 including in Overseas Jurisdictions, with instructions on behalf of claimants, defendants and joint instructions. He is a registered Expert Witness and a member of several medico-legal and professional organisations. Professor Jari has published widely, with academic contributions including a BSc thesis, 17 peer-reviewed articles, invited publications, book chapters, and 28 international presentations, alongside ongoing orthopaedic research. Professor Jari has attended Court on a number of occasions during his career, to give both Factual and Expert evidence.
